This removable partial denture is retained through various attachment methods, including intra-coronal, extra-coronal, or stud attachments. Precision attachment partials can be tooth-supported, tooth and tissue-supported, tooth and implant-supported, or implant and tissue-supported. They are often designed alongside new crowns or implants to meet specific esthetic expectations and enhance retention and stability.

These precision attachments feature meticulously machined or milled metal-to-metal mechanical interlocking parts that adhere to exceptionally high tolerances. 

Similar to precision attachment partials, semi-precision attachment partials also utilize mechanical interlocking parts for retention. However, these components consist of semi-rigid materials, such as semi-resilient metals or other plastic patterns that can be cast into the chosen alloy.

Vitallium is a cast metal alloy that exhibits similar properties to Type III gold, offering enhanced resilience and flexibility.
